Hello Northwest Family,
We are truly facing an unprecedented situation in our world and our local community with the COVID 19 Pandemic.
The elders have been in communication this week as to what response we should make as a church. The governing officials of our nation and our state have declared states of emergency and are urging large groups not to meet to slow the progress of this virus and to protect vulnerable citizens. We as a church will honor their leadership and direction and will not meet for Sunday worship services, or any mid-week meetings or gatherings for the rest of the month of March. We have also learned that a church member may have the virus but has been unable to receive a test, which has furthered the urgency for us to make this decision.
Even if we can’t gather in person, we are still committed to growing in Christ together. We will launch a video sermon from Pastor Ryan that will be available to watch together at 10:30am this Sunday on Facebook, YouTube, and northwest-church.com. We encourage you to gather as a family or as an individual for worship, prayer, and study of God’s word this Sunday. We also ask you to make an increased effort to pray for those suffering from the virus, for our community, and for our leaders during this uncertain time.
Look for more communication to come out this week as to other creative ways that we can be the church to our community during this crisis. We believe there will be great opportunities to demonstrate the love and compassion of Christ to many who are hurting.
This is a rapidly changing situation and we will make every effort to communicate with you all via email and our church website. Would you please help us spread this information throughout our church community to those you know who don’t have access to email and other technology.
Trusting fully in God
