Day 4: I am the Bread of Life

Day 4: I am the Bread of Life

Jesus said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to me shall not hunger, and whoever believes in me shall never thirst,” John 6:35.

Jesus is our salvation.  Jesus fulfills our deep inner longing.  We know this to be true in our mind, yet we often turn to so many other things for fulfillment.  We are so distracted by our world and by our technology.   In my sermon on November 15th, I talked about the overwhelming power of technology and social media to distract us, to outrage and depress us, and to siphon off as much of our attention as possible.

“Tech platforms make billions of dollars keeping us clicking, scrolling, and sharing. Just like a tree is worth more as lumber and a whale is worth more dead than alive—in the attention extraction economy a human is worth more when we are depressed, outraged, polarized, and addicted”. – humantech.com

Let’s take time to pray for our lives, our culture and especially our kids, that we won’t be consumed by the vortex of technology and that in Jesus, we would find deep, soul satisfying life.
