There’s No Chance for Righteousness on Your Own

There’s No Chance for Righteousness on Your Own

Sermon

We don’t like to be told we can’t do something. We think even if there is a slight chance, we can do it. The reality however is we can’t make ourselves righteous before God, we need what Christ has done. Pastor Ryan preaches from Romans 10:5-13, “There’s no chance for righteousness on your own, but it’s 100% certain through faith in Christ.”

Application Questions

Look Back

  1. Reflect over this past week and share how God was a sanctuary and place of rest in Christ.

Look Up

Read Romans 10:1-13

  1. What is the essence of life by the law? Why can’t we do it? Why is the law even there then?
  2. Why do we want to do it on our own? Why is it hard to trust and obey God?
  3. Why does Paul quote from Deuteronomy 30? How does he apply this to Christ? Why do we make it harder than it needs to be sometimes?
  4. Why does receiving salvation involve both our mouth and heart?
  5. Why do you think so many don’t turn to Christ when the offer is so amazing?
